MCPCR pulls up CCIs in Moreh

Imphal, May 24 2022:
Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) has pulled up Child Care Institutions in Moreh area of Tengnoupal district on Tuesday and issued strong directives for improving their respective infra structures.
In a statement, MCPCR informed that the commission along with Child Welfare Committee, Tengnoupal district jointly visited CCIs in Moreh area on April 23 and directed the functionaries to improve infrastructure and facilities of the CCIs.
Later, on May 6, a team of the Commission led by its chairperson along with social welfare director and Child Welfare Committee, Tengnoupal district jointly visited the CCIs in Moreh area.
The team observed poor maintenance and inadequate staff in the CCIS.
Consequently, the superintendents and wardens of the CCIs were asked to appear in person before the Commission along with relevant documents on May 24 .
On Tuesday, the Commission directed chief functionaries of the CCIs in the district to improve infrastructure of CCIs at the earliest and to follow the guidelines prescribed in ICPCS.
Furthermore, the Commission is going to undertake inspection of CCIs in all districts of the state, the statement added.
