Imphal, January 10 2022: While maintaining the killing of BJP Wangoi Mandal polling station No 5 booth president Abujam John and his younger brother Abujam Sashikanta as a political conspiracy, BJP Manipur Pradesh has strongly condemned the killing.

Addressing media persons at BJP Manipur Pradesh office at Nityaipat Chuthek here on Monday, BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary P Pre-mananda Meitei said that the party values functionaries of booth level committee working at the grassroots and it was a big loss for the party that one such highly valuable BJP worker was shot dead.

He also said that BJP considers killing of John as a political conspiracy and the party has submitted written complaints to both the state and Central governments as well as to the Election Commission of India to book and punish all those involved in the killing.

Another complaint for awarding befitting punishment to all those involved in hurling a bomb at the residence of former general secretary of BJP Mahila Mandal and Khonghampat ZP member namely Bobby few days back had also be made.

Threats to BJP workers have intensified as the party is sure to win the upcoming election with thumping majority but such threats must stop immediately, he said and strongly called for making the upcoming assembly election peaceful.

According to Premananda, it was very unfortunate that Congress party held election rallies in Wangjing-Tentha and Khangabok assembly constituencies on January 9 with the participation of Congress leader Bhakta Charan Das even after the ECI has enforced election code of conduct with effect from January 8.A written complaint has been lodged to the ECI for taking action against those involved in violation of ECI norms, he said and charged Congress party of violating ECI norms for creating political crisis instead of making the upcoming election a free and fair one.

The press conference was also attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh vice president N Nimbus, spokesperson Chidananda and secretary Bikram.

Meanwhile, BJP Wangoi Mandal has condoled the death of BJP Polling No 5 booth president Abujam John and Abujam Sashikanta.in an armed attack at Samurou area on Sunday night.

A statement of the Mandal informed that a condolence meeting was held on Monday at the Mandal office and those present observed a two-minute silence in honour of the departed souls while praying for their souls to rest in peace.
