Working of BSNL affected due to pen-down strike

Normal functioning in BSNL Manipur offices remained paralysed as the pen-down strike by its employees entered its third day on Saturday.
The BSNL employees are on strike since November 5 demanding that the General Manager (GM) should be transferred from BSNL Manipur.
GM J Lunkim is alleged to have assaulted one of his subordinate staff members inside his office chamber recently.
Condemning the alleged highhandedness, the employees have alleged that J Lunkim is "an incapable officer who has totally failed to enhance the functioning of the BSNL" and they have vowed to continue the strike till he is transferred from his current posting.
The matter regarding the incident as well as the inefficiency of the GM has already been put before the national level body of BSNL, said the agitating employees.
All official works and activities related to the telecommunication services have been reportedly affected due to the stir.
Apart from revenue collection, the strike has caused inconveniences to the consumers.
