Polling personnel dispatch begins for remote areas

Two days ahead of the ensuing Manipur Hill Areas Autonomous District Council (MHAADC) Election 2015, dispatch of first batch of polling personnel for four remote areas in Ukhrul district began from the district mini secretariat complex this afternoon while the rest are awaiting the same on the following days.
The four remote places are Maokot, Chamu, Kachouphung and Khayang, sources said adding that each team comprised of a presiding officer and three polling officers.
Each team has been provided with a total of 10 security personnel.
Polling personnel for rest 202 out of 206 are awaiting dispatch on Saturday and Sunday depending on the distance of the location of the stations, sources said.
Meanwhile, a large crowd of polling personnel thronged the ADC/ADM office to collect their respective appointment letters while many have started arriving at the district headquarters from interior areas.
Training for the polling personnel was held from 20-22 May last and grouping and final rehearsal for all the personnel was held on 28 May at Ukhrul Town Hall.
A total of 152 polling stations has been identified as hypersensitive while 54 has been placed under sensitive category out of the total of 206 stations in Ukhrul district.
