DESAM on LAW College election

Imphal, May 29 2015 :
DESAM in a press release said that it has decided to put a ban on the Schedule scrutiny and election of Law College Students' Union Election on May 30 and June 1, if the college authority did not clarify the reason for postponing of election which was scheduled earlier.
The student body alleged that besides various appeal, the college authority had not issued a clarification till date as to why the Principal earlier postponed the election on the scrutiny day on May 26 .
AMSU on Law College Election
Election for LMS Law College should be conducted prior to exam or before June 2, appealed Manjit Sarangthem, General Secretary of All Manipur Students' Union 9 (AMSU).
The student body also said that if any untoward incident takes place, the Principal of the college or the Director of Education (U) should be held responsible.
AMSU in a press release claimed that nomination for the college election was completed on May 24 .
However, all of a sudden the Returning Officer put up a notification signed by the principal, postponing the election without giving any reason said Manjit.
The student body also informed that if the election is conducted after exam which is scheduled to begin from June 4, the sixth semester students might not have the right to vote which an unwelcomed approach.
