Moreh denizens urged to support 'war on drugs'

A get-together programme of Mate Tribe Union (MTU) was organised by MTU, Moreh Blotk at T Motha village, here, on Saturday.
The programme was attended by TA&H minister Letpao Haokip as chief guest along with MTU president Lien Mate, Kuki Chief Association Moreh Block president Jamkholien Mate and ADC Chandel former vice chairman Tongpao Mate as members of the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Letpao disclosed that the Union Ministry of DoNER has released funds for road connectivity projects in Moreh and surrounding villages.
He also advised the villagers to inform him if anyone deserving does riot get BPL, NFSA, health cards and other cards for various schemes of Social Welfare Department for immediate remedial measures.
Stating that people of Moreh should support the government's 'War on Drugs 2.0', Letpao called for stopping poppy cultivation and illicit drug business to make a better society.
He also assured that a community hall will be constructed in the village soon.
As part of the event, a cultural programme of Mate tribe was performed.
