Govt can't contain third wave: MLA Ranjit

Asserting that the government has not been able to meet requirements for fighting the second wave of Covid-19 effectively, opposition MLA K Ranjit has questioned claim of the government that it is prepared to tackle the third wave of the pandemic, if any.
Ranjit was attending a felicitation programme of 52 voters of 19 families of Wangjing Khunou, who recently left BJP and joined Congress party on Wednesday.
Speaking at the event, MLA Ranjit contended that the government could not provide a single drop of water to the Covid positive inmates in CHICs located in the district so far.
The ambulance in the district is also in bad shape and he had even repaired it on his own expense.
With such pathetic preparations, public do not believe that the present government would be able to fight the third wave of the pandemic effectively, he said.
The Congress MLA said that people still need to stay alert from Covid-19 and appealed to all to follow Covid appropriate behaviour to stay safe from the deadly disease.
He also appealed to the people of Sugnu assembly constituency, who are staying in different parts of Imphal including Bengali and Nepali people of Serou to come and collect their share of rice from Kalibari Mandir, Thangal Keithel early morning on September 26 .
Wangoo ZP member nominee M Romen, Kakching Khunou Municipal Council former chairperson Kh Babu and councillors, as well as leaders of Chairel Development Committee attended the felicitation function.
