ANSAM, KSO take up teachers' demand

The two tribal apex student bodies urged the Government of Manipur to immediately solve the pending problems of All Manipur Hill Districts Contract Basis Teachers Association.
A joint emergency meeting of the Kuki Students' Organization (KSO-GHQ), All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM) and members of JAC on All Manipur Hill Districts Contract Basis Teachers Association (JAC-AMDCBTA) 2006 batch, under the directorate of Education (S) hills, held on Thursday at Diocesan Social Service Society Hall, Mantripukhri, (DSS) .
In the meeting they discussed the problems of the teachers.
The meeting was co-chaired by ANSAM President Seth Satsang and KSO-GHQ President Paotinthang Lupheng and KSO-GHQ General Secretary Seiboi Haokip.
They were unhappy with the Government's indifferent attitudes, despite of various democratic forms of agitations from the side of JAC-AMHDCBTA and other related organizations to bring an amicable solution.
The two apex student bodies of the tribals of Manipur will directly intervene with immediate effect.
The joint delegation of ANSAM & KSO-GHQ will meet to the Government of Manipur on Friday to redress the long pending issue of the Hill Schools Contract Basis Teachers 2006 batch for their service regularization.
It further warned that if the Government fails to redress the long pending genuine issue at the earliest date, a series of unwanted activities will flare up in the four corners of the state.
On the other hand, it is also learned that all the members of the Hill Districts Contract Basis Teachers Association will be organizing a solidarity march and peaceful assembly on Friday.
Representatives of the KSO and the ANSAM will hold a meeting with the chief minister on Friday.
