JAC relaxes agitation for 2 days

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed in connection with the murder of two cadres of URF inside their designated camp at Loitang Khunou has relaxed its ongoing agitation for two days following an agreement with the State Government today.
The representatives of JAC met Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Revenue Minister Th Devendro and MLAs of Sekmai and Lamsang at the Chief Minister's Bungalow today evening.
An agreement was reached between the JAC and State Government during the meeting.
The Government officials made full assurance that the demands of the JAC would be fulfilled within a short time.
The points of agreement between the JAC and State Government included shifting of the designated camp of URF from Loitang Khunou Spinning Mill Complex by March 31 next year, banning use of mobile and other communication devices by URF cadres inside the designated camp, deployment of more number of security personnel to monitor the activities of the cadres, handing over a rehabilitation fund of Rs.2,50,000 each to the family members of the two deceased cadres within three days and offering government jobs to the next of kin of the deceased cadres.
Secretary of the JAC Sanahanbi said that the JAC would suspend the ongoing agitation for two days taking into consideration of the assurance made by the State Government.
However, the JAC would resume the agitation if the Government fails to translate the points of agreement into action.
