Imphal, August 12 2022:
The death count continues with Manipur reporting two more deaths in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of deceased persons due to the virus to 2143 .
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Rooms in a statement said that the two deceased persons had comorbidities and both were not vaccinated.
On the other hand, the number of new infection continues to be low with the State logging 18 more cases in the last 24 hours.
The 18 new cases, all from the general population, are from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (1), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Senapati (1), Ukhrul (3), Tengnoupal (1), Chandel (3) and Churachandpur (2) .
Out of the 18 new cases, five hill districts, namely Senapati, Ukhrul, Tengnoupal, Chandel and Churachandpur accounted for 10 cases.
Ukhrul and Chandel also reported the highest cases with 3 each.
The positive statuses of the 18 persons were confirmed at RIMS (4), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (13) .
With 18 more added, the cumulative number of positive cases is 1,39,490 including 5019 Central security personnel and the number of active cases is 224 including 5 Central security personnel.
Eighteen persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (17) and JNIMS (1).The recovery rate is 98.30 percent.
On August 11, a total of 2302 Covid doses were administered taking the total to 31,41,302 including 12,93,607 second dose and 2,24,716 precautionary dose.
A total of 83 D Type oxygen cylinders and 8 B Type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State on August 11 .
