National Sanitation Campaign to be launched today

The National Sanitation Campaign under Swachh Bharat Mission would be held from September 25 to October 23 next month in the State.
Talking to media persons at the conference hall of Old Secretariat here today, Chief Secretary of Manipur PC Lawmkunga said that the National Santitation Campaign would be launched tomorrow by PHE Minister I Hemochandra at the State Capital, while the Deputy Commissioners would inaugurate the campaign in their respective district headquarters.
Awareness campaign through Audio-Visual (AV) Van-Tableau and hoarding would be held at every district headquarter and State Capital as part of the campaign.
Cleanliness and IEC campaign in all government offices, Gram Panchayats, urban local bodies, public health centres, police stations and schools would be held from September 26 to September 30, while cleanliness oath (Swachhta Shapath) would be administered to all in government offices, Gram Panchayats, urban local bodies, public health centres, police stations and schools on October 2 next month, the Chief Secretary said.
Lawmkunga further stated that district level painting competitions and street plays in all districts and state level painting through Rotary and Lions Clubs would be held on October 7, and the observance of World Hand Washing Day and street play would be held on October 15 .
The prize distribution and closing ceremony of the campaign would be held on October 23, he added.
Chief Secretary also disclosed that all cleanliness activities would be photographed and all IEC activities, rallies and programmes would also be photographed and submitted daily to NIC for uploading on daily basis.
