Tamenglong, September 24 2014:
The NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region has accused the 27 Assam Rifles of 'whipping up tension' and creating disturbance in Zeliangrong area.
The NSCN-K, Zeliangrong region said under the dynamic leadership of SS Khaplang that the outfit strongly condemned the 27 Assam Rifles' action and misbehaviour, which took place on September 21 .
"They intruded in the peaceful corner of the land unnecessarily without any respectable objective other than whipping up tension and disturbing the quiet and calm atmosphere, which has been so far enjoyed and treasured by the native inhabitants of Longke-Kilong (Rangkiulong) village, of Tousem sub-division, Tamenglong district," it alleged in a statement today.
According to the statement, the outfit had so far refrained from any display of muscle power or provocative move as a disciplined force and has been honouring the words given at the altar of the cease-fire with the Government of India.
However, the 27 Assam Rifles has constructed the image of an amateur for itself, by making an ill-advised move once again, which displayed its sub-standard sense of military discipline or ethics, it stated.
