Thoubal, March 17 2022:
An election review meeting of Janata Dal - United (JD-U) to analyse the reason for the loss of the party's candidate in Khangabok assembly constituency Thokchom Jadumani was held at his Khangabok Mayai Leikai residence on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Jadumani asserted that this election is not the last one and he will continue to fight for the people and for truth as long as he is alive.
He has always called for peaceful environment during his campaign but another candidate started using violent means including intimidation of women voters by using firearms.
He had never expected such violence in the election, he said.
Maintaining that he might have left some areas untouched in serving or convincing the public, which led to his loss in the election, Jadumani said that despite the outcome, he feels happy to learn that some of the works he had taken up are bearing fruits.
He feels encouraged to continue serving the people on seeing the well-improved river banks from Arongthong to Tentha and farmers of Ekop Pat and other areas practicing double cropping, he said.
The Election Committee report was tabled in the meeting and it agreed to work harder to ensure victory in the 2027 state assembly elections.
Khangabok ZP member Khundrakpam Rajmohon, Part-II GP pradhan S Opendro, Part-III GP pradhan nominee Moirangthem Manglemjao and Khangabok Kendra JD (U) Election Committee members along with supporters from different polling station areas attended the review meeting.
