Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) vice president L Tilotama has said that the BJP led government in the state seems to be running with a 100 days government without any long-term policies or programmes.
The vice president told me-dia persons on Tuesday that she wants the government to come up with policies and programmes which could last long but the present N Biren led government has failed to bring out any such policies/programmes and seems to be running govern ment with only short term measures.
According to Tilotama, small scale industry sector is facing downfall since the introduction of GST and the new system of tax collection did not spare even key sectors of the state like handloom and handicraft and Ngari (fermented fish).
The present government is running with loan and people of the state will have to shoulder their responsibility when loan deficit is to be cleared, she said and asked if the present government is dispensing its duties rightfully.
She then urged the government to remove extra burden of GST from the people and take up steps to control price hike of essential commodities.
The BJP government claims of caring for women but takes up steps which would be hard for women to survive, Tilotama contended, while asking if anti-women activities would empower women.
