Imphal, February 24 2022:
Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar has stated that more serious difficulties would befall upon the state if the BJP is allowed to form the government for another 5 more years.
Speaking at a public meeting organised for Naoriya Pakhanglakpa NPP candidate Soibam Subhaschandra at Mongsangei on Thursday afternoon, Joykumar commended the efforts of NPP president Conrad Sangma to unite the NE people.
Joykumar expressed his amusement over BJP's statement that if NPP were to form the government, all central funds would have to pass through Shillong before it reaches Manipur.
CM Biren ridiculed NPP national president Conrad Sangma as "Shillong's lad", but failed to understand Conrad's expertise in governance, which is far greater than that of Biren.
"Conrad, as Meghalaya CM, is able to the successfully manoeuvre the coalition government of that state.
CM Biren, however, seems to be unable to comprehend the meaning of coalition.
It is a fact that anyone who criticises the ruling government is slapped with NSA.
Furthermore, the ensuing election have been one of the most violent ones to be seen in the state," he remarked, while adding that NPP will win big in the upcoming polls.
In his speech, S Sub-haschandra said that BJP will not return to power again, for it is a political party best at lip service only.
