Catholic schools to close today

In condemnation of the bomb blast at Little Flower School, Sangaiprou, all Catholic educational institutions in the state will remain shut on Tuesday even as a notice issued by Little Flower School headmistress informed that students (class VII to X) and teachers will take out a protest rally from 9am to 11am on Tuesday in protest bomb attack.
She appealed to all students, parents, past pupils, school van drivers and well-wishers to join the protest march and show solidarity.
Meanwhile, Manipur Catholic Women Organisation condemned the bomb blast at the gate of LFS on Sunday.
In a release, TS Shelvi, president of the reminded that educational institutions are places where the children are educated and groomed for the future of our society.
"It is indeed sad and condemnable that a school, which has been producing students that are changing the scenario of the state for the better, is being targeting in a violent way for Unknown reasons", Shelvi said, adding that such act of violence only creates fear among the young students and disturbs the educational environment of the school.
While pointing out that acts of terror and violence are not the solutions to any issues, the president maintained that dialogue, peaceful and democratic approaches will better solve issues.
"The Mothers of Manipur will not remain a silent spectator to such irresponsible act of few groups of people, posing a threat to the lives of the children", she affirmed and asked the government to intervene and create a safe and secure learning environment, free from such acts of violence.
