Mahousha Ima Ningshing Tha concludes

Mahousha Ima Ningshing Tha, a month long environmental campaign of Royal Riders Manipur (RRM) concluded yesterday.
The valedictory function which was held at Thangmeiband Athletic Union (THAU) ground was graced by Forest and Environment Minister, Thongam Biswajit, president of RRM, RK Tombisana, senior journalist, Pradip Phanjoubam and environmentalist, Salam Rajesh as the presidium members.
Speaking as the chief guest, Thongam Biswajit said that it is unfortunate that some locals pose hindrance to the activities of plantation drive which are being organised at hilly areas with the noble approach of preserving and conserving the natural environment.

Lauding the steps taken to plant trees by many, he said that people should acknowledge the degrading environmental conditions and its adverse impact and should be extra cautious not to worsen the condition further.
The Minister, while expressing concern over the disturbance caused by some in plantation drive held at different locations creating a tensed atmosphere, he termed such incidents as really unfortunate and appealed to all concerned to solve such issues amicably.
He also appealed to all to safeguard the forest and other natural resources so as to maintain the ecological balance.
The Minister also commended the initiatives taken up by Royal Riders Manipur for the protection of environment over the past few years.
As a part of the programme, saplings were planted in the surrounding areas of THAU ground led by Thongam Biswajit.
It is worth mentioning that Royal Riders Manipur has been taking up various activities with the sole objective of protecting the environment in different areas of the State as a part of its month-long environmental campaign christened 'Mahousha Ima Ningshing Tha' .
