HSE 2022 results out with 90.09 pass pc

Results of the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) 2022 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) were declared today and this year's exam witnessed a record pass percentage of 90.09 .
Education Minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar officially announced the results of HSE 2022 at the Babupara office of COHSEM this afternoon.
Out of 28,166 students who appeared in the exam, 25,374 cleared the hurdle.
In Arts stream, 8082 students gave the exam and 7369 students cleared it which implies a pass percentage of 91.18 .
Altogether 19,519 candidates appeared in the Class XII exam and 17,502 got through it, implying pass percentage of 89.67 .
Commerce stream recorded a pass percentage of 89.03 per cent as 503 cleared the exam out of the total 565 candidates.

HSE 2022 was conducted in 44 subjects from April 8 to May 11 this year.
Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School's Golmei Gaihemmei of Langthabal Khoupum topped the Arts stream by securing 459 marks in total.
As many as 11 students of Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School secured their places in the merit list of top 10 .
TG Higher Secondary School's Linthoingambi Thongram of Tentha Khunou is the only face saver of Government schools.
She secured the 4th position together with two other students.
Xtra Edge School's Rahul Naorem of Arapti Mayai Leikai is the topper of Science stream.
He scored a total of 478 marks.
The top 20 merit list of Science stream has students of Millenium Institute of Sciences, Herbert School, New Era Higher Secondary School, COMET School and Vision Creative School of Science.
However, no student of Government higher secondary schools could find a place in the merit list.
By securing a total of 424 marks, SDJM Higher Secondary School's Abujam Anjali Devi of Langthabal Mantrikhong Makha Leikai secured the first position in Commerce stream.
Three students of SDJM Higher Secondary School, Paona Bazar have their names in the top five merit list of Commerce stream.
VK Tawna College, Lamka and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Maram have one student each in the top five merit list.
The pass percentage this year is higher than the pass percentages of previous years.
The pass percentage in 2020 was 86 per cent but the Class XII exam was held in a totally different format in 2021 on account of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar said that the results of HSE 2022 could be announced in time because of the hard work put in collectively by officers and staff of COHSEM and teachers of schools and colleges.
He said that Manipur today needs not only literate people but also educated people.
A new programme would be introduced to facilitate comprehensive education where students would be taught moral science and also the importance of social works on every Saturday, the Education Minister said.
Students would go to schools without bags and they would participate in co-curricular activities on Saturdays, he said.
He added that the same programme would be introduced as a pilot project in some selected districts.
Saying that some novel ideas and initiatives would be announced to the public in the coming month, the Education Minister pledged that the Mid-Day Meal scheme would be implemented in the best possible manner.
COHSEM Chairman L Mahendra, Education Commissioner H Gyan Prakash, Education (S) Director L Nandakumar, COHSEM Secretary Ch Biren and Controller of Examinations A Sukumar were also present at the press meet.
