Science topper to pursue medical profession

Naorem Rahul of Xtra Edge School Ghari, who secured the first position in science stream in the HSE 2022 conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education (COHSEM), wants to continue further study in medical line.
Rahul's father Naorem Jibol and mother Athokpam Shantibala are both teachers by profession.
A resident of Lilong Arapti Mayai Leikai, Rahul also secured 3rd position in the HSLCE 2020 conducted by BSEM.
Speaking to The People's Chronicle, Rahul confided that he is preparing for both National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Common University Entrance Test (CUET) though he wants to pursue medical line.
In case, he could not make it to the medical line, he will pursue further study in general line either at St Stephen's College or Hindu College in New Delhi to prepare for civil services examination so that he could bring some changes in the education system of the state.
To Rahul, there is nothing wrong with the trend of private tuition as the students get the opportunity of closer interacting with the teachers for in-depth knowledge on any subject.
He also confided that he took private tuition for all subjects.
Though he does not have a standard routine for study, he studies his books regularly at home, the topper added.
Rahul also sees mobile phone and internet as a good medium for students to get more knowledge but urged students not to misuse the modern gadget.
According to his parents, Rahul grew up as a bright student and he always remained as class topper from 1st to 10th standard in his school.
Except for the busy schedule for his private tuition and financial involvement, they do not have to worry about their son's behaviour, they added.
