Lamka College celebrates Foundation / Graduation Day

The Lamka College today observed its 46th Foundation cum Graduation Day with Thanlon MLA Vungzagin Valte, an alumnus of the college gracing the event.
According to the principal, T Awnzagen, the College was established on June 7, 1976 with the affiliation of Gauhati University.
Eventually the college was taken over by the State Government in 1979 and duly came under Manipur University, he added.
LK Mung Ngaihte, chairman College Veng Village Authority stated that he had repeatedly seen the lecturers of the college devotedly teaching the students, just three or four of them at times.
Their enthusiasm was laudable, he said and added that students in such classes are surely to benefit more than the overcrowded ones.
Vungzagin Valte mentioned that the college has not seen many chances since his college days.
"The vision of the founding fathers needs to be revisited so that the College becomes vibrant, dependable and successful", he added.
The MLA also assured to brief the State Education Minister on ways to improve the College at the earliest.
The event also saw the 2021 batch of graduates receiving their certificates, and subject toppers in Political Science, Sociology, History, Economics and English being awarded with mementos and cash incentives.
Cultural performances from College Veng Cultural Troupe; MZP Nghathal Cultural Troupe leh HYA Muolvaiphei Cultural Troupe were also exhibited during the event.
