TPR below 2 pc,19 new cases detected

The daily test positivity rate of Covid-19 infection in the state has further dropped below 2 per cent on Thursday as government bulletins reported 19 fresh cases out of 1299 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a daily positivity rate of 1.46 per cent against 2.29 per cent recorded on Wednesday.
The TPR is lowest since January 5, which recorded 1.38 per cent after which it rose rapidly.
No death case was reported on Thursday and the number of fatalities stands at 2113 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 190 vaccinated people of which 60 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 32 patients were discharged from home isolation (20), RIMS (1), JNIMS (4) and CCCs (7) .
The active case came down to 293 out of which 122 (41.64 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 279 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 111 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed-availability in Covid Care Centres.
So far, the state has recorded 11,066 positive cases and 111 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 71 new positive cases and 1 fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 200 and 8 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 19 fresh cases (7 male & 12 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (18) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (6), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (3), Senapati (2), Noney (2) and Chura-chandpur (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,854 (general population - 1,31,841 and CAPF personnel - 5,013).Number of recovered cases is 1,34,448 (general population - 1,29,453 and CAPF personnel - 4,995) and number of active cases is 293 (general population - 282 and CAPF personnel - 11) .
The recovery rate is 98.24 per cent.
A total of 434 D-type and 155 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 4409 vaccine doses administered on Wednesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,13,694, out of which 11,42,715 had received second doses and 60,170 taken the precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,635), Imphal East (30,384), Thoubal (10,125), Churachandpur (11,039), Kangpokpi (3123), Tamenglong (3468), Bishnupur (9805), Senapati (2480), Ukhrul (3259), Kakching (6870), Chandel (2705), Noney (1156), Tengnoupal (1196), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1034) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (702), Imphal East (510), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,104 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,619 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,08,344 tests per million population against the national average of 5,49,028 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.68 per cent.
