Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling Camp held

Imphal, August 22 2013:
A day-long Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling Camp jointly conducted by State Bank of India's Lead Bank and Drishtee, was held at Meipou Village Community Hall in Chandel District today.
The inaugural function of the camp, which was organised under the support of NABARD, was graced by M Chaoba Singh, District Social Welfare Officer Chandel; Ch Angdar, Chairman Meipou Village Authority and Ch Angshil, Secretary Khunbi Village Authority as Chief Guest, Functional President and Guest of Honour respectively.
During the camp, Sothang Haokip, Chief Manager Rural SBI Regional Business Office Imphal; Ch Sunil Singh, State Co-ordinator of Drishtee and Sh Romio, Field Officer, SBI spoke on the importance of banking and Credit facilities as resource persons.
Ch Sunil Singh explained that banks provide loans to their customers on certain grounds.
But people do not have the habit of repaying the loan after being taken from the banks and this habit of the people affects the business transaction of the banks to a large extent.
Therefore, we should pay back the loan taken from the bank so that the benefits provided by the banks could reach out to other customers as well.
N Deven Singh, Branch Manager SBI, Kangshang Branch and D Mathew, Social Welfare Officer, Moreh also spoke during the camp participated by a large number village Chiefs, Civil Organisations leaders and Customers of State Bank of India.
