MBC Centre Church organises Green Sunday

Manipur Baptist Convention Centre Church Imphal organised green Sunday at the Church today.
Chief Conservator of Forest Dr Lokho Puni (IFS) stated that the MBC Centre Church has done a commendable service by organising green Sunday before the observation of World Environment Day on June 5 .
Pointing out that 50 percent of the total ecosystem in the world is filled with dirt and filth, Dr Lokho added that numerous man-made disasters including deforestation have caused degradation and depletion of environment, forest and animals which is quite unfortunate for human beings.
The people residing in hill regions should also abandon the trend of deforestation for the safety and welfare of human lives.
He also appealed to all the people to, decrease and maintain the use of plastic bags and decompose plastic waste properly.
Dr Lokho further appealed to maintain a clean environment while keeping in mind the impacts of burning plastics which is hazardous to health.
He also motivated all to adopt the habit of tree plantation and protect trees and forest as well as the ecosystem, which have been given the almighty for the well being of human beings.
A green parade by Children Ministry, preparatory music by The Harvest Team and various programmes by Legacy Home, MBC and youths were shown during the programme.
MBC Centre Church members offered prayers and hymns to the almighty.
