Position holders, star mark scorers felicitated

Sangai Tuition Centre, Kakwa Bazar, Imphal organized a felicitation ceremony for its students who bagged positions, including the 2nd position holder of HSLC Examination 2018, Surjakanta Irengbam, and those who scored star mark in the declared HSLC Examination, 2018, conducted by BOSEM and HSE Examination 2018, conducted by COHSEM.
The function held at Kakwa Lamdaibung, was graced by Thongbam Lata Devi, Pradhan Thongju Part 1, K Madhumangol, former Editor, ISTV, K Kalidas, retired Professor, DM College of Teacher Education, Professor Nabachandra Sharma, retired Principal, DM College of Science, Y Budhi, president, LSWC and E Metrik, Vice Principal, CT Higher Secondary School as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the function, retired Professor K Kalidas opined that educationists, teachers, parents and all those concerned should adopt/find out/create different and suitable methods for teaching and imparting knowledge to the students considering their individualistic differences.
He defined tuition centres as student support centres and added that talented students need special kind of treatment in their learning system as they have to learn beyond other normal students.
He observed that tuition centres can be one of the special facilities among others while pointing out that taking tuition is one reason for scoring higher marks by the students in these days.
Government and others must encourage tuition and design policies that facilitate benefits to tuition centres as they contribute a lot in producing meritorious students to a great extent in the State, he added.
Pradhan Lata Devi lauded Sangai Tuition Centre for bringing out meritorious students in the State, including Surjakanta who bagged 2nd position in the HSLC Examination in the first year of its inception.
She contended that education sector must be supported by all sections of the society saying that development and prosperity can be fostered only when the people are educated.
