Anti-drug awareness programme organised

An Anti-Drug Awareness programme was held today at Khurai Konsam Leikai Community Hall Ipum Mapal to address the adverse impacts of drugs in the society on the theme 'Ereicha Shing Mikap Thoklashi' .
The awareness programme was organised by Lamyanba Irawat Memorial Integrated Trust (LIMIT) in collaboration with Khurai Konsam Leikai Khunai Kanba Nupi Lup.
Speaking in connection with the programme, LIMIT president Malem Thongam said that anti-drug awareness programme has been organised with an aim to help the drug users, especially youths to bring back to mainstream life devoid of drugs.
Informing that similar campaigns will be conducted in different localities across the State to sensitize the masses about drug menace, he called for support from all for the cause for a progressive and healthy society.
The programme was also attended by Nupi Samaj president Thokchom Ramani Leima; AMKIL president Lourembam Nganbi; NLANL Imphal East president Yumlembam Memma Leima; SASO secretary RK Tiken Singh; CADA general secretary Geetchandra Mangang and Khurai Konsam Leikai Khunai Kanba Nupi Lup president Ngangkham Prabhabati as the presidium members.
Project Field Officer SETU, FHI Manipur Raj Nongthombam spoke as a resource person on how to treat a drug user, what treatment measures should be taken up and Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) - its advantages and disadvantages.
