All measures in place, says Edn Minister

The Government has taken up all possible precautionary measures so as to avoid all unwanted and untoward incidents during the Board of Secondary Education Manipur's (BOSEM) HSLC Examination 2023 which commences tomorrow, said Education Minister Th Basantakumar.
The Education Minister today attended an Experience Sharing Programme on "Students' Experience in Inter-State Living (SEIL), National Integration Tour 2023" held at NIELIT Akampat under the aegis of the ABVP, Manipur.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the programme, Basantakumar said that holding examinations is not about scoring marks alone but it is also about testing the knowledge and wisdom of students.
Question setters of HSLC or Matric exam were instructed to set questions in such a manner which can test the knowledge of students instead of putting questions which are beyond the level of students' comprehension, he said.
In order to avoid leakage of question papers and ensure peaceful conduct of the exam, question papers sealed subject-wise have been sent to police stations.
Earlier, question papers of different subjects were sealed together and sent to police stations, Basantakumar said.
Unsealing of the question papers would be covered with video camera.
Moreover, all precautionary measures have been put in place to check use of unfair means during the exam, he said.
Speaking about the programme held today, the Education Minister remarked that the National integration tour organised by the ABVP would go a long way in creating a sense of oneness among the people of the country.
Such tours would help students in understanding the histories and cultures of other regions of the country in addition to boosting their own confidence and developing personality, he said.
Apart from the Education Minister, NIELIT Director N Debachandra, ABVP North East Zonal Organising Secretary Kamal Nayan, ABVP Manipur State Secretary RK Rabichandra and SEIL in-charge Manipur Deepak Ningombam too attended the programme as dais members.
