UKB win Zougal Memorial Shield title

UKB beat Zouveng Youth Club in the final of the 22nd Zougal Memorial Shield played held at Lamka Public Ground on Wednesday.
The football tournament was held in remembrance of the Zougal (Zou people's war against the British occupation) fought during 1917-19 .
The closing ceremony was attended MLA Tamenglong Jamhenlung Panmei as chief guest, MLA Wangkhei Arun Kumar Thangjam as guest of honour, MLA Singngat Chin-lunthang as chief host, and Manglianthang Zou, former Bhutan player and TRAU ex-captain.
The chief guest during his speech called for collective resolve to ensure peace and harmony in the state, saying that he is a Naga while the deficit in the 46th minute through Kenish but that was as far as they could manage as Lambung held on to emerge the victors on their way to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Chandonpokpi received a walkover against Liwa Khullen.
On Thursday, Lamkang Khunkha will play Unapal while Japhou take on Mohring and UFC clash with Thamla FC.
