State logs one death, 56 new cases

Imphal, February 24 2022:
The state on Thursday reported 56 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1479 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positivity rate of 3.79 per cent against 3.70 per cent recorded on Wednesday.
Thursday also reported one death case taking total number of Covid casualties to 2105 .
The victim was a fully vaccinated resident of Imphal West district.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 187 vaccinated people of which 57 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 57 patients were discharged from home isolation (41), RIMS (6), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (4) .
The active case came down to 563 out of which 213 (37.83 per cent) are in home isolation.
So far, the state has recorded 10,866 positive cases and 103 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 3398 new positive cases and 59 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 415 and 15 respectively.
According to official reports, the 56 fresh cases are from Imphal East (13), Imphal West (27), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (2), Kangpokpi (1), Jiribam (11), Tamenglong (1), Noney (1), Ukhrul (1), Chandel (5) and Churachandpur (3).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,654, number of recovered cases is 1,33,986 (general population - 1,29,004 and CAPF personnel - 4,982) and number of active cases is 563 (general population - 545 and CAPF personnel - 18) .
The recovery rate is 98.05 per cent.
In all, 5162 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people has reached 15,04,101, out of which 11,24,309 had received second doses and 57,420 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48570), Imphal East (30347), Thoubal (10117), Churachandpur (11032), Kangpokpi (3117), Tamenglong (3462), Bishnupur (9791), Senapati (2472), Ukhrul (3245), Kakching (6857), Chandel (2696), Noney (1150), Tengnoupal (1190), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1033), and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (702), Imphal East (507), Thoubal (187), Churachandpur (167), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (204), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (I), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Test rate has improved to 5,05,922 tests per million population against the national average of 5,44,508 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate came down to 8.70 per cent.
