LNKR condemns murder attempt at Chennai

The Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR) has condemned the incident happened on October 7 at Nungambakam Railway Station, Chennai, said a statement of LNKR.
The statement said that on October 7, around 1.50 pm, Khiuramlungbou Kalengta s/o Akebou Kalengta of Lenglong Village was attempted to murder by unknown miscreants with a sharp weapon and sustained severe injury on his chin while he was going to Church near the Nungambakam Railway Station, Chennai.
The accused reportedly tried to murder him by slitting his throat, however he somehow averted the attempt and escaped with injury on his chin, claimed LNKR.
Khiuramlungbou Kalengta is a bright student who hailed from Lenglong Village Tamei Sub-Division, Tamenglong District, Manipur and currently studying at Officers IAS Academy Anna Nagar, Chennai for UPSC examination, the statement added.
The Northeast students feel insecure in the mainland India inspite of being the citizens of the Country and this is not the first time the students face such racial attack, maintained LNKR.
LNKR strongly condemned such inhuman and barbaric attack on the student in the highest term and urged the Government of Manipur to engage with their counterparts in Tamil Nadu regarding the issue to take up stringent action against the culprits in accordance with the law of the land to bring justice at the earliest to ensure a safe and secure environment for the student community of Manipur in particular and Northeast in general staying in Tamil Nadu.
