World Mental Health Day observed

In view of the worldwide observation of World Mental Health Day, Bishnupur district also celebrated me day at me training hall of Old CMO Complex, Bishnupur district with "Young People and Mental Health in a changing World" as the theme.
The event was organised by District Health Society Bishnupur and District Mental Health Programme under the aegis of National Health Mission.
Chairperson Bishnupur Municipal Council L Maniyaima Singh graced the ceremony as chief guest, Chief Medical Officer Bishnupur Dr Ng Jayenta as president and Mental Health Nodal Officer Dr N Gyaneshwor Singh, Councillor Drag Treatment Centre Bishnupur Dr Kh Sumati Devi and Reporter District Information Office Bishnupur Suanlyan Tungnung as guests of honour.
Dr Ng Jayenta, while speaking on the occasion, stated that such awareness programme is important to prevent drug menace and its ill effects in the society.
Meanwhile, Dr N Gyaneshore observed that mental problem is rising rapidly among the people, especially the teenagers and such programme will enable mem to understand the negative impacts of duags and alcohol and also act as a precaution to refrain themselves from indulging into illegal activities.
Noney: As a part of observance of World Mental Health Day, 2018, District Health Society Noney organized �International Day of Older Persons" today at Domini English School Longmai-3 under the theme "Young people and Mental Health in the Changing World" .
Adai Dangmei, Chairman, Longmai Village Customary Court (Thoupei), Dr Ewin Golmei, CMO Noney, Kasaigai Gangmei, Attorney Chairman Longmai Village Authority and Disinrei Kamei, Founder, Domini English School graced the function as dignitaries.
Speaking at the occasion, chief guest Adai Dangmei appealed the gatherings to pay respect to their elders and take their blessings to have a successful and healthy life.
During the programme, 10 elders of Longmai Village were honoured with modest gifts as a token of love and appreciation.The programme was attended by staff of Longmai PHC, students and teachers.
