Imphal, August 06 2026:
The Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has issued a strong warning against shops selling essential items at inflated prices.
Addressing reporters at its Khoyathong office today, KSA spokesperson Huidrom Bablu said the student body may inspect shops to check price-hikes.
With transport being disturbed by landslides on highways and the current Manipur conflict, the association has received reports that shops are selling essential items at inflated prices, he said.
Hiking prices of commodities when people are suffering on all fronts is unacceptable, he said.
The KSA, he said, is taking up steps to curb price-hike.
All shops should sell essential items strictly at prices fixed by the Government.
Shops shall put on display the list of prices fixed by CAF&PD for customers to see and check, he said.
Appropriate actions will be taken up against shops found inflating prices, he added.
