Imphal, February 07 2014 :
The Kuki SoO groups, namely UPF and KNO have alleged the Indian Government of neglecting the Kuki political issues.
The Kuki outfits feel that the Indian Government should consider their political issues in the backdrop of intense political scenario ahead of the Lok Sabha Election and resumption of tripartite talks on UNC's demand for Alternative Arrangement.
According to a reliable source, a meeting of the Joint Working Committee of UPF and KNO was held early this year and unanimously resolved to work together on common issues and pressurize the centre and the State Government to begin the political dialogue for the Kuki SoO groups.
A team KNO and UPF led by General Secretary of KNF and Convenor of UPF Aaron Kipgen left the State on February 2 to meet the Central leaders in New Delhi.
A joint memorandum of UPF & KNO signed by Chairman of UPF ST Thangboi Kipgen and President of KNO PS Haokip would be submitted to Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.
The leaders of Kuki SoO Groups are also likely to meet Vice President of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Rahul Gandhi and General Secretary AICC (NE in-charge) Luizinho Faleiro in New Delhi to urge them to intervene in resolving the Kuki political issues, the source said.
Earlier, the UPF has announced to boycott the Congress Party in the coming Lok Sabha Election in the hills of Manipur if the appointment of Interlocutor is not made before the Lok Sabha polls.
Political tensions grow once again in the State as both the Naga and Kuki groups begin to draw before Government's attention towards their issues before the Lok Sabha polls.
