Senapati, February 07 2014 :
With villagers refusing to accept the dead body of the young man beaten to death by hills based militants suspected to be NSCN-IM cadres yesterday at Senapati, it is still lying in the custody of Senapati police station.
The young man identified as A.Shepao (28), a native of Tungjoy village but staying at Makhrelui village of Senapati town was brutally beaten to death suspected NSCN-IM cadres.
Meanwhile, United Naga Council (UNC), All Naga Students Association Manipur (ANSAM), Naga Women Union (NWU) and Naga People's Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) have strongly condemned the killing and asked all the 'Naga national workers' (Naga underground groups) to shun such activity and go by the 'national principle' and not against the wish of the Naga people or against the Naga national interest.
These Naga organisations then appealed to the civil bodies of the Senapati district and the village leaders of the deceased to sort out misunderstanding amicably.
