Imphal, December 04 2014 :
In a recent development over the demands of Federation of Government College Teachers' Association of Manipur, the High Court has issued notices to the three Principals whose appointments were notified earlier by the Manipur Public Service Commission.
The development comes following a writ petition filed by ten affected teachers of the Association to seek justice over the matter of recruitment of 25 Regular Principals in the state to quash their appointment orders.
In a press statement issued today, the association claimed that these appointed teachers lack the minimum qualification and criteria for the posts and that they have been selected in a discretionary procedure violating the norms of UGC Regulations.
Further they observed that the selection process was totally manipulated with the help of a Special Screening Committee citing the fact that none of these appointed principal could secure the minimum API score of 400 demanded as per the regulation.
The notices of the high court have been issued to the three newly appointed Regular Principals of Oriental College, Lilong Haoreibi College and Manipur College on December 1 last with grant of three weeks time for reply.
The Court ordered that their appointment will be subject to the outcome of the writ petition, the release said.
