Imphal, December 04 2014 :
Expressing serious concern over leaving Lamphel Sanakeithel road unattended for more than 15 years, Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) has said that the organisation will repair the road if the Government fails to revamp it by December 15 .
Welcoming the move, Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykishan vowed to extend all possible assistance to TAKDO for the said venture.
Speaking at a press conference held at his private residence, Kh Joykishan said that it is hard to recall when the 1.5 km long road was last black topped.
Saying that MLAs, Ministers and bureaucrats travel on this road every day, Joykishan said that he had put forward the matter in the State Assembly as well.

Although, Chief Minister O Ibobi had told the MLA that necessary steps would be taken up to revamp the road in March this year, the assurance has not been translated into action till date, he added.
Saying that he shares the same sentiment with the people regarding the bad road condition, the MLA said that he would extend all possible assistance to TAKDO to revamp the road.
Joykishan added that he would provide funds from his local area development fund if needed.
TAKDO Advisor Soram Bijoy said that the organisation decided to carry out the venture considering the demands of the youth clubs and women organisations.
He said that the road connects important places and centres like RIMS, Shija Hospital, Games Village, KV Lamphel etc.
However, the dilapidated condition of the road poses serious threat to the people, especially children, residing on both sides of the road, he added.
He also questioned why the road has not been blacktopped for many years although, the Government has spent lots of money in revamping roads like Tiddim road and Uripok road.
