Modern College Students calls for settlement

The Students' Union of Modern College of Porompat has today appealed to the Government of Manipur to promptly deal with the ongoing demand of AMCTA, whichhas been resorting to different strikes including "Half Day Chalk Down" and Exam Boycott in pursuing its demands.
In a press release issued today, the Union urged that the Semester Exams for some of the degree courses have already started today and work of supervising the examination was carried out by only 22 part-time teachers.
Saying that as many as 840 students will be appearing the said examination on December 8, the statement pointed out that if the regular teachers of the college still decline to assist these part-timers, the exam cannot be conducted properly.
The student group also stipulated the urgency of settling the matter considering the welfare and educational interest of the students.
Furthermore, the Manipur State Council of All India Students' Federation has stated that the ongoing hassle between the teachers and the State Government will jeopardize the career of the students claiming that educational needs of a society should not be hampered by any conflict or misunderstanding between the machineries governing it.
They had also called for an immediate attention from the government on the issue, stated the release.
