RFT reaches out to Northeastners; edibles, PPEs distributed in districts

CCpur, May 28 2020: The Churachandpur based Ropiang Foundation Trust has extended relief materials to hundreds of people from the Northeast who are stranded at New Delhi.

The charitable trust has reached out to the Northeast people in phases since April 23 with Munirka village, a locality that housed the maximum number of people from the region as the launched pad.

About 600 families from the village are covered by the relief distribution they undertook on April 23 and 25, 2020 .

Similar exercise involving about 300 families were undertaken on May 26 for Kishangarh, Vasant Kunj and Mehrauli areas with CNG Pump Kishangargh serving as the distribution point.

On May 27, they reached out to families residing in Safdarjung and Mohammadpur areas from the Gateway of Haven, Safdarjung.

The trust will continue to reach out to people from Northeast at the North campus tomorrow with two distribution points already identified for the purpose.

Ropiang Foundation Trust is pleased to announce the following NE origin needy persons currently residing in North Campus as beneficiaries for RFT COVID-19 Relief Program said a circular the trust has released to inform the intended beneficiaries.

The relief pack consisting of 10 kgs of rice, 2 kgs of daal, 1 kg of salt, 1 litre refined oil, 250 gm of tea powder, 200 gm haldi powder, and 5 pieces of soap will be distributed in two slots, one at the GTB Nagar Metro Station Gate No 3 while the evening slot will be carried out in front of Aggarwal Sweets Store located near the Meat Market, Santi Nagar, Burari.

With the relief package distribution carried out in two slots covering about 300 families a day, hundreds of people from the region have already benefited from the charitable work.

The trust has also carried out home delivery for the relief package to families located in isolated areas.

On the other hand, various organisations and individuals also came together to provide assistance in different forms to the people of the State.

Rajashri Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation
Rajashri Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation, Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai and Shree Shree Govindaji Barti Seva distributed rice, dal and vegetables to Shree Shree Govindaji Barti Temple Board for offering to Shree Shree Govindaji, today.

At the distribution function, spokesperson of Rajashri Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation, Takhellambam Irabot stated that the contribution was made, considering that offering to God continues even during the lockdown.

The food items and vegetables were distributed under the guidance of titular king, Leishemba Sanajaoba, he added.

Kakching
Chairman of Bhubon Technical and Skill Development Private Limited, Naorem Nabachandra, proprietor of Bhubon and Leiren Brick Field Kakching, Naorem Nopur Singh and Director of Bhubon Technical and Skill Development Private Limited, Naorem (o) Binarani Devi today donated edibles items to quarantine centres opened at Kakching and Sora.

The quarantine centres are Grace Cottage Academy Kakching, Victory High School Kakching, Martin Grammar School Kakching, Good Shepherd School Kakching, Kakching Higher Secondary School Kakching, Kakching Wairi High School (SC/ST Hostel Kakching Wairi), Kakching Public School, Madrassa Hussainia Arabia Sora Multipurpose English School Sora Chingwangma and Madrassa Ijajiya Sora Awang Leikai.

The edibles distributed were eggs, potatoes, onions, oils and packaged salts.

Meanwhile, the Thoubal District United Women's Development Organization (Thoubal Ima) also distributed food items such as cabbages and dal to BDS Children Home for Girls at Kakching Hospital road and Senior Citizen Home for Older Women at Thongjao Awang Leikaida, today.

BDS Children Home for Girls and Senior Citizen Home for Older Women is run by Backward Development Services (BDS) Wangjing and Wangjing Women and Girls Society (WWAGS) respectively.

The Thoubal Ima also distributed the same food items for people who are quarantining at the hall of Tangjeng Khunjao Water Supply, Kakching.

Altogether 8 individuals who returned from different States are staying at the said centre which was opened specifically for them.

They were sent for home quarantine by the Government, but as their homes don't have the facilities, the centre was set up to accommodate them.

Till date, no help has been received from the Government side, said our correspondent.

Selhao Vaiphei Village
Locals of Selhao Vaiphei Village under Kangpokpi district handed over food items such as banana trees and Ceylon cinnamon (ushingsha) to Yairipok Police Station.

Officer in charge of Yairipok Police Station also distributed face masks to the visiting villagers who were headed by Hoithang Vaiphei, daughter of Chief of Seihao Vaiphei Village.
