Imphal, May 28 2020:
In view of the ever-increasing active cases of COVID-19 in Manipur, Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council (CPI-MSC) has appealed to the State Government to convene an all-party meeting to combat the pandemic collectively.
In a statement issued today, CPI-MSC State secretary, L Sotinkumar Singh claimed that the State sees a surge in positive cases of coronavirus disease due to the 'negligence' of the State Government.
Suggesting that the COVID-19 Task Force of Medical Directorate and District Administrations should frequent to the community and institutional quarantine facilities being opened in the State to look after their needs and at the same time to inspect if such centres follow the guidelines laid down by the WHO and ICMR, Sotinkumar alleged that there is not enough ambulance in the State for ferrying COVID-19 patients to either RIMS or JNIMS.
Kerala effectively fought the COVID-19 due to the combined effort of political parties, Municipal Councils, panchayats and village communities, he added.
