UKLF celebrates Raising Day

The United Kuki Liberation Front ( UKLF ), a constituent member of the United People's Front (UPF) and one of the signatory organisations of SoO pact with the Central and State Governments celebrated its 19th Raising Day at Nazareth Camp, Muvanphoi in Chandel district today.
The celebration was graced by Jamkhomang Baite, Vice-President of Hill People's Forum Manipur (HPF-M) as the Chief guest, Sokhomang Haokip, President of Kuki Chief's Association Chandel district as the functional president and Janglet Haokip, social worker as the guest of honour.
Hoisting of the organization flag by the chief guest, paying of condolence salute to the departed cadres by the Kuki Army-UKLF, declaration of rank promotion to 41 cadres and awards were the main features of the celebration.
While speaking at the function, Commander in Chief cum Chairman of the organization, SS Haokip said, "By merely floating more new organizations, we can not achieve our goal.
It is the unity of the people and the existing organisations through which we can achieve it.
Therefore, we must cooperate and unitedly march forward towards our goal to achieve it" .
Eminent Kuki artistes, MK Lalboi (Elly Rose), Hatneikim Gangte, Beggi and Paominlun (Bong gari) enthralled the huge gathering with their melodies patriotic songs.
Large numbers of representatives from civil society organizations, tribal leaders, student organizations leaders, village chiefs, church leaders as well as villagers from far and near also attended the programme besides top ranking officers of the United Kuki Liberation Front.
