NPO slams silence of Nemcha in murder of 6 Nagas

Senapati, September 08 2026: The Naga People's Organisation (NPO), Senapati has slammed Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen's silence on the brutal killing of six Liangmai Naga men, who were among 20 abducted by Kukis on May 13, 2026 .

Contrary to what the Deputy CM has claimed, the NPO, in a statement, alleged that Nemcha had remained silent during the abduction of 20 Naga civilians and the subsequent killing of the six men.

"How can you speak of your efforts towards reconciliation and peace while remaining silent during the abduction of 20 innocent Naga civilians and the subsequent brutal & barbaric killing of those six innocent Nagas?" asked the NPO .

While Deputy CM Losii Dikho had taken sincere efforts to release 14 Kukis, Nemcha had refused to take calls and switched off her mobile phone when her intervention was urgently needed to secure the release of six Nagas who were found killed later, claimed the NPO .

The Deputy CM said that she had approached Kuki civil society organisations for the release of 18 Naga detainees.

For the record, the actual number of the persons abducted was 20, and not 18.Of these, 14 persons, including a breast- feeding infant, were released through an exchange arrangement, said the NPO.

Moreover, if those 20 persons were merely "detainees," as described by Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, how did six of them subsequently end up being killed in the most horrific manner, with their bodies dismembered and mutilated ? asked the NPO .

She should also explain the alleged involvement of KNF-P led by her husband in the crime, added the NPO .

During the early Litan incident, even MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing was seen meeting civil bodies of both the Naga and Kuki communities in presence of Deputy CM Losii Dikho and Ukhrul MLA Ram Muivah.
