Cheiraoba greetings

Governor VK Duggal, Chief Minister O Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam led others in greeting the people of the State on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba.
In his message, VK Duggal said, "New Year is an occasion to rejoice and set new resolutions.
On this occasion, let us all resolve to make Cheiraoba 2014 a harbinger of peace and harmony in the State.
We have been witnessing many incidents which can break the bond between different communities but people of Manipur have shown their maturity by maintaining equanimity and shunning group violence.
From this Sajibu Nongma Panba, let us strive together for a better Manipur forgetting our differences and working for a common goal.
We should rededicate ourselves to strengthen our bonds of friendship, so that all communities can live as brothers and sisters notwithstanding differences in caste, creed, language and religion.
Let us all observe the day in its true spirit so that it ushers an era of peace and prosperity" .
Extending his greetings, O Ibobi said, "Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba marks parting of the old year and the onset of the New Year.
With the celebration of this festival in its true spirit and as we step into the New Year, let us all resolve to bring an atmosphere and environment of peace and harmony in the State to accelerate the pace of development.
May the festival bring prosperity, heath and happiness to all of us" .
In his greetings, Gaikhangam prayed that with the dawn of the new year (Cheiraoba) peace and brotherly co-existence would reign in Manipur.
In his message, Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar wished the festival brings communal harmony, peace, prosperity and development in the State.
IGAR (S) Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra and all ranks of Assam Rifles have also extended warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Sajibu Cheiraoba.
In his message, IGAR (S) wished that the festival heralds an era of peace, progress and prosperity in the region and enhances the spirit of unity, cohesiveness and brotherhood amongst people of all communities of the State.
Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) and All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) have also greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Cheiraoba.
