75 categorised as hypersensitive

Imphal, March 30 2014:
Out of a total 1256 polling stations of Inner Manipur P/C, 95 polling stations have been categorised as hypersensitive.
Imphal East has the maximum number of hypersensitive polling stations at 45 .
The 75 polling stations were categorised as hypersensitive based on records of previous elections and reports submitted by security forces, informed an official source.
Imphal West and Thoubal has 15 hypersensitive polling stations each while, Imphal East has 45.There is no hypersensitive polling station in Bishnupur district.
The ECI has already issued instructions to station at least one micro observer in all risky polling stations or give video coverage or get photographed or webcast the poll process.
There are 338 sensitive polling stations in Imphal West, 228 in Imphal East, 99 in Thoubal and 161 in Bishnupur.
On the other hand, police, keeping in view the ensuing Lok Sabha election, conducted a search operation at Kshetri Bengoon Mayai Leikai this morning and five persons were detained.
All five of them were later let off after verification.
The State CEO office has already sent a proposal to airlift Presiding Officers and EVMs for 193 polling stations of Outer Manipur P/C.Two MI-17 and two Chetak helicopters have been hired for emergency purposes and airlifting polling personnel.
