Ex-servicemen rally held at Dehradun

Imphal, April 19 2022:
Assam Rifles conducted an exServicemen rally at Dehradun, Uttarakhand today.
Ex- Servicemen, Veer Naris, and other dependents attended the event.
The rally was presided over by the Director General of Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Pradeep Chandran Nair and was attended by Officers and Staff of Headquarters DG Assam Rifles, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
A total of 40 grievances were registered during the rally out of which 15 were resolved on the spot.
During the Rally wheelchairs were distributed to the physically challenged individuals and further Veer Naris, Gallantry Awardees and other Veterans, were also felicitated.

During the course of the event, DG Assam Rifles also interacted with the Ex Servicemen and thanked them for their yeomen service to the Nation.
DG apprised the gathering of the present challenges faced by the Force and further discussed various steps & schemes being initiated by Assam Rifles for the Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen all across the country, added the statement.
The statement further added that Assam Rifles is the oldest and the most decorated Para Military Force of the Nation.
With a rich history of valour and sacrifice spanning more than 187 years, the Assam Rifles has carved a niche for itself in operations and has contributed for the overall development of the Nation.
It has been the Force that has held the North East together over the years of turmoil thereby rightly being known as the 'Force that Binds the North East'.
The rich legacy of the Force is primarily due to the spirit and enthusiasm of the men and women of Assam Rifles and the Force would forever be indebted for the selfless service of its Ex-Servicemen.
