Imphal, March 03 2022:
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Employees Welfare Association (NVEWA) has appealed to the Disaster Management Committee of the State Government to take up measures to start classes for 11 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) in the State at the earliest.
NVEWA in a press release expressed discontent that no appropriate measures have been taken up by the authorities concerned to conduct classes of 11 eleven JNVs where more than seven thousand students are studying when the order was issued to resume physical classes since the Covid situation was under control.
In view of the uncertainty of the future of students of JNVs, the association informed that the parents and the school authorities have made repeated appeals to the authorities concerned to initiate measures to start the classes however the appeals have been left unheeded till date.
The association informed that the Supreme Court has advised to conduct physical examinations for all CBSE schools and the JNVs across the country have started conducting classes however the situation is different in the State.
Maintaining that the Covid situation is under control in the State and the Covid vaccination drive for students of JNV above 15 years of age is almost complete, the association urged the authorities concerned of the State to take up immediate measures to allow the conduct of classes in JNV in the interest of the students.
