Training programme held

A one day training programme on rural health care was organised by 21 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) in association with Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme, District Chandel and AKSHYA at Sajik Tampak yesterday.
Health care providers were educated on tuberculosis and sputum collection and transportation to nearest DOTS centres.
Around 60 health care providers including ASHA workers of Sajik Tampak were trained in this programme.
Dr Emerson Khartu, District TB Officer, Chandel and Medical Officer of 21 Assam Rifles interacted with the health care providers and gave awareness about the Tuberculosis and RNTCP.
The Medical Officer also educated the people on causes of AIDS and its preventive measures.
This training camp also gained importance as Sajik Valley is one of the worst TB affected areas.
