Local club decries over riverbed patta allotment

The locals of Khurai Thoudam Leikai, Imphal East in a press release issued by Universal Progressive Club Khuraithongkhong expressed their dissatisfaction in connection with the riverbed patta allotment issue.
The release further conveyed that the Govt of Manipur should inform the general public how the Govt officials allotted 20 pattas between the river stretches from Minuthong to Lamlongthong and award befitting punishment to all concerned officials, it demanded.
Unless the Government of Manipur revokes the allotment order in no time, it further added, undesired consequences could be happened, it said.
In another press release from the same club conveyed that no individual is allowed to dispose solid waste materials in and around Lamlong Keithel with effect from August 15, 2014. However, a waste disposal unit/location has been arranged at south west of the Lamlong road crossing.
Shop owners and vegetable vendors should only dispose at this point, and if they fail to do so, a sum of Rs 1000 along with necessary action will be taken up, it stated.
