Inspector General of Assam Rifles greets on patriots day

The Major General Rajeev Chopra, IG AR (South) and All Ranks of Assam Rifles extend their greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of 'Patriots Day, 2014' Observed as to mark the supreme sacrifice made by Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General on August 13,1891, a press release issued by PRO of IGAR (South) said.
It reminds us of the soaring sense of patriotism of the brave sons of Manipur.
IGAR (South) urges the people of Manipur to come together bearing the same indomitable and unconquerable spirit and stand united to fight against the social evils and insurgency to bring about peace, prosperity and tranquility in the days to come.
All ranks of IGAR (South) also wish that the people of Manipur live in harmony and together we join hands to spread amity and bring prosperity to the State, the PRO added.
The same press release further conveyed that the 21 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR organised a Medical Camp at Sajik Tampak conducted by an NGO, Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), India.
The camp was assisted by Dr Konihrning, MO of PHC Chakpikarong, Dr Thangzamang, CHC of Saparmena and Dr Leishangthem Manglemba of PHC, Mayang Imphal and Medical team from 21 Assam Rifles.
The camp was attended by approximately 200 individuals including men, women and children from various villages of Sajik Valley.
Members of the NGO explained the symptomatology of diseases and prophylactic medicines were distributed.
Besides assisting the NGO in conduct of the camp, the medical team of AR also interacted with the local population and addressed their queries relating to hygiene, sanitation and health care.
