ASHA workers demand uniform money in personal bank accounts

All Manipur Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) Workers Union has urged the State to fulfill a set of four demands including to pay the uniform money of the ASHA workers in their personal bank accounts from this month onwards.
In this regard, a press conference was held today at Manipur Press Club.
Speaking to media persons during the press conference, general secretary of the union, AK Thoibi Devi has demanded the Government to issue a tentative order at the earliest for payment of incentives of ASHA workers as announced by the spokesperson of the incumbent Government after being approved by the State Cabinet earlier.
Further the union also demanded 100 percent promotion from the qualified ASHA workers of the State at the time of appointing facilitators by the Government.
Also the general body meeting of All Manipur ASHA Workers Union was held today at Irabot Bhawan today and an executive council of 13 members was formed.
The general body meeting was attended by the general secretary of AITUC, L Sotinkumar, secretary A Saratchandra, executive members Th Suresh and Ng Jotin Singh and spoke as resource persons, said a statement by the union Later an interaction programme on the topic 'Role of ASHA Workers' was held where the resource persons spoke in length about the topic.
Also the delegate members to attend the upcoming 16th AITUC State Conference were also selected in today's meeting.
