Imphal, December 11 2021:
Executive Chairman of Manipur State Legal Services Authority, Justice Kh Nobin High Court of Manipur has stated that most of the issues in the State arises due to lack of knowledge among the public regarding the law and its proceedings.
He made the above statement during his visit at ADR Centre Lamphel Court complex to monitor the National Lok Adalat held today.
He further stated that Lok Adalat is being held every three months and it is a platform to bring an amicable solution among the parties where pending disputes or cases in the law Court or at the pre litigation stage are settled amicably.
The settlement made by the Lok Adalat is deemed to be a decree of the Court and its final and no appeal can be made against the settlement before any court.
He continued that a number of cases are pending before the Court and is due to the increasing numbers of cases and lack of required manpower, infrastructure and Judges in different Courts all over the country.
Kh Nobin also mentioned that there are more than 60 cases of CBI and NIA pending before the Court in the State as there is no dedicated Court of NIA and CBI and the cases are being heard by the Sessions Judges.
He also expressed the need that the general public must have knowledge of law and different schemes implemented from time to time to benefit them.
However it is unfortunate that 90 percent of the population do not have proper knowledge of law and schemes due to which different issues arise from time to time, he added.
