Tamenglong, December 11 2021:
Civil society organizations of Tamenglong district on Saturday demanded the government to repeal the draconian Armed Forces' Special Powers Act 1958 (AFSPA) from Naga inhabited areas in particular and the entire north-eastern states of India in general.
The demand for scrapping the pro-military Act was raised during a sit-in-protest held at Haipou Jadonang Park, Tamenglong town to condemn the massacre of 14 innocent Naga civilians by Indian security forces on December 4 at Oting village in Mon district of Nagaland.
It was organised by Joint Tribe Student Associations (JTSA) under the aegis of All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM) in collaboration with Joint Tribe Council (JTC) and Joint Tribe Councils Women Wing (JTWW) .
